When It Hurts To Move – Patient Information Resources
Our orthopaedic surgeons and physiotherapists have been integral in the development of universal protocols for post-operative shoulder rehabilitation for the Calgary zone. These protocols aim to improve and standardize shoulder care and provide health care practitioners the resources to help guide their patients through their rehabilitation.

Dr. David Sheps and physiotherapist, Colleen Kuntze, are the co-leads for the Shoulder Assessment Initiative within the Alberta Health Services Bone and Joint Strategic Clinical Network. This initiative has focused on the development of a care pathway for the assessment and management of shoulder conditions in Alberta.
This project is a culmination of research evidence and consensus recommendations of 55 health care providers across Alberta, including orthopaedic surgeons, radiologists, physiatrists, sport medicine physicians and physiotherapists. Please find the links below to the resources developed during this project.
