Precise, Targeted Relief for Injury and Recovery

Orthopaedic massage is a precise, evidence-informed form of manual therapy that supports musculoskeletal function and optimal movement, using a treatment plan tailored to your needs following a thorough assessment. It may include massage, soft–tissue release, joint mobilization, and remedial exercise, delivered by a registered massage therapist who works alongside your broader care team at Access Orthopaedics.

Meet Your Massage Therapist

Our registered massage therapists deliver hands-on treatment to support movement and recovery.

What to Expect

At your first appointment, your therapist will discuss your symptoms and history, assess the factors contributing to your pain (since a large share of pain is referred), and use targeted hands-on techniques to support your recovery, with guidance on ongoing care and confirmation of your extended health benefits coverage along the way.

No referral is required to book an appointment with one of our registered massage therapists.

Referrals

Please note that a referral is NOT required to book with one of our registered massage therapists.

However, we do welcome referrals from physicians, physiotherapists, chiropractors, and other members of your care team.

Specialized Assessment

Your registered massage therapist begins with a thorough intake, reviewing your health history, discussing your goals, and assessing areas of tension, restriction, or dysfunction. Our goal is to understand not just where you hurt, but why you hurt.

Comprehensive Treatment Plan

Your RMT develops a treatment approach tailored to your individual needs, injuries, and symptoms, drawing on deep tissue massage, myofascial release, and other hands-on techniques.

You will also leave with home care and self-management guidance to support your progress between sessions.

Connected Care

Massage therapy, assessments, diagnostic imaging, physiotherapy, pain management, surgical coordination and other allied services are all available at Access Orthopaedics. Your RMT can work alongside your broader care team, making it easy to access care all under one roof.

No. You can book an orthopaedic massage appointment directly, without a referral.

Based on these findings, your therapist recommends a targeted treatment plan and an appropriate number of sessions. Unlike general or relaxation-based massage, orthopaedic massage is goal-oriented and focused on the specific tissues related to your condition.
A large share of pain is referred pain. An assessment helps determine where your symptoms are coming from, what may be contributing to the issue, and makes sure nothing important is missed in your treatment.
Assessment time varies depending on your condition and whether you have been assessed at Access Orthopaedics before. It typically takes 5 to 25 minutes, with a focus on maximizing your hands-on treatment time.
Treatment is designed to be gentle and comfortable, though you may notice some tenderness in injured or tense tissue. The goal is to support healing without causing excessive discomfort.
Sports massage supports the physical demands of training and competition. It can help with recovery, muscle soreness, flexibility, and performance for recreational and competitive athletes alike.
