Dr. Daniel You is an orthopaedic trauma and upper extremity surgeon at Foothills Medical Centre and a Clinical Assistant Professor at the University of Calgary. His practice focuses on the care of patients with musculoskeletal injuries and shoulder and elbow pathology.
Dr. You completed his undergraduate degree at Dalhousie University, where he was a four-year varsity volleyball athlete and was named a Top 8 Academic All-Canadian. He earned his medical degree at Queen’s University before completing his orthopaedic surgery residency at the University of Calgary, where he also completed the Clinician Investigator Program and earned his Master of Science. He then pursued two subspecialty fellowships: Orthopaedic Traumatology at the R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore, and Shoulder and Elbow Reconstructive Surgery at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota.
Alongside his clinical work, Dr. You is active in research and education. He has authored numerous peer-reviewed publications and book chapters and has presented his work at national and international conferences. He is involved in teaching medical students, residents, and fellows.
Dr. You is happy to have returned home to Calgary, where he cares for patients from the city and surrounding areas. He sees patients in both English and Mandarin.
