Dr. Dominic Shepherd is a specialist in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R) with comprehensive training in neuromuscular medicine, musculoskeletal care, and rehabilitation. He completed his BSc in 2015 and earned his MD in 2019 from Western University, followed by residency training in PM&R at the University of Alberta. He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada and a CSCN Diplomate in Electromyography (EMG).
In addition to his clinical practice, Dr. Shepherd serves as a Clinical Lecturer at the University of Calgary and provides inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation care, with a particular focus on spinal cord injury and spasticity management at the Foothills Medical Centre. His clinical interests include ultrasound- and fluoroscopy-guided procedures, MSK and pain medicine, neuromuscular electrodiagnostic (EMG), spinal cord injury rehabilitation, spasticity management, and intrathecal baclofen pump therapy.
