Dr. Alycia Amatto completed her undergraduate studies in Biological Sciences at the University of Lethbridge from 2013 to 2016. She earned her Doctor of Medicine in 2020 and subsequently completed her residency training in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R) in 2025, both at the University of Alberta. She is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada.
Dr. Amatto has completed additional specialized training and holds the Canadian Society of Clinical Neurophysiologists (CSCN) diplomate in Electromyography (EMG), qualifying her in the performance and interpretation of electrodiagnostic studies. She has also pursued further training in image-guided interventional pain management procedures.
In addition to her outpatient clinical practice, Dr. Amatto serves as a Clinical Lecturer in the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at the University of Calgary. She provides both inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation care at the Foothills Medical Centre, with a particular focus on acquired brain injury and spasticity management.
Her clinical interests include musculoskeletal medicine, interventional pain management under ultrasound and fluoroscopic guidance, electromyography, brain injury rehabilitation, and spasticity management.
