Dr. Michael Amatto completed his Bachelor of Science in Biology with Honours in Kinesiology at the University of Lethbridge in 2012. He subsequently earned his Doctor of Medicine and completed his postgraduate residency training in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at the University of Alberta in 2021. Dr. Amatto is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada.
He has pursued additional subspecialty training and is a Diplomate of the Canadian Society of Clinical Neurophysiologists (CSCN), providing expertise in nerve conduction studies and electromyography. He also holds a Diploma in Sport and Exercise Medicine from the Canadian Academy of Sport and Exercise Medicine (CASEM). Through his training, Dr. Amatto has developed advanced proficiency in both ultrasound- and fluoroscopy-guided procedures. He is additionally certified as an Independent Medical Examiner by the American Board of Independent Medical Examiners (ABIME).
Dr. Amatto’s clinical interests include the management of musculoskeletal disorders, concussion care, interventional pain management, and electrodiagnostic testing.
